Current view of Shattuck Park (shown above)
Overview of Shattuck Park
The plot of land where the park is had been originally owned by a sewer pipe company, a marble works, a coal yard, a boat works, and a steam laundry prior to Clara Shattuck's purchase. By 1910, it had become a rubbish dump. After buying the land, Clara Shattuck renovated it between February 1912 and August 26th, 1915 into a park space to be enjoyed for its beauty, fresh air, and view of the river.
